DAY 2, Thursday - Arrive in Italy
Welcome to Puglia, a spectacular expanse of land that juts out into the turquoise Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Arrive in the energetic port city of Bari and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to get acquainted with this fascinating city on your own. Tonight, a briefing by your Tour Manager on the wonderful journey that awaits you, followed by a Drink and Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers

DAY 3, Friday - Bari's Old City
The exploration of Bari starts in the revitalized narrow streets of the Old City (Bari Vecchia). View Bari Cathedral and the stunning Romanesque Basilica of San Nicola, housing the relics of St. Nicholas, known as Father Christmas. Next, your historical walking tour reveals 12th century Castello Normanno-Svevo built by the Normans. Perhaps stroll the harbor's bustling open-air fish market where locals buy their fish right out of the sea. Eating raw fish here is a regional tradition! Linger on your own, explore Bari's pretty squares, admire the architecture, or just sip an espresso at an outdoor café and "people-watch". Perhaps participate in the optional visit to Ostuni, followed by a tasting of the area's famous Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Tonight, join the throngs gathering in the piazzas buzzing with trendy restaurants and cafes and try traditional Pugliese food

DAY 4, Saturday - Castel del Monte, Seaside Trani
Today, travel to gorgeous Castel del Monte, an extraordinary medieval fortress celebrated for its unique octagonal design. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this 13th-century castle, built by Frederick II, is considered one of the best preserved medieval castles in Southern Italy, used as a site of the famous movie "The Name of the Rose" with Sean Connery. A tour of this fortress highlights the ingenious architecture, magnificent structure, and its massive public halls. On to the historic seaside town of Trani on the Adriatic coast with its picturesque harbor and 12th-century Cathedral di San Nicola Pellegrino, spectacularly positioned at the water's edge. Time to walk through the charming and quaint town. Return to Bari for an evening at leisure

DAY 5, Sunday - Masseria Lunch, Lecce
Begin your day with a visit to a beautiful local farmhouse Masseria to enjoy lunch with regional specialties including local wine. Afterwards, in Lecce stroll along 300 year old cobblestone streets past exquisite Baroque architecture. You'll understand why Lecce is fondly named the "Florence of the South". After viewing Piazza del Duomo and the Roman amphitheater dating back to the 2nd century, admire the masterpiece of Southern Baroque in the Basilica of Santa Croce. Time to wander on your own and perhaps dine at one of the quaint trattorias in the city center

DAY 6, Monday - Full Day in Lecce
Today, enjoy a day at leisure to explore Lecce on your own or choose to participate in the optional tour through the Salento Peninsula. A picturesque drive will take you all the way to Santa Maria di Leuca, the end of the tip of the Italian heel, where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian Sea. Rocky coastline, beaches, fishing villages, and watchtowers are waiting to be experienced in the most remote area of Puglia region. As you stop on the way to the beautiful coastline, indulge in the Mediterranean atmosphere of these beautiful shores and waters. Enjoy lunch with local products and dishes before continuing on the coast to reach Otranto, the Easternmost Italian town. Walk the historical center surrounded by its ancient walls at your own pace, take your time to check the tiny small shops and why not savor a gelato, while sitting in an outdoor café, before returning to Lecce for time and dinner on your own

DAY 7, Tuesday - Alberobello, Matera
Today, a visit to the delightful town of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, introduces you to the Apulian traditional dry stone huts known as Trulli. In existence since the 14th century, these unusual structures featuring pyramidal, domed or conical roofs are remarkable examples of mortarless, drywall construction, a prehistoric building technique used in this region. After time on your own, journey to fascinating Matera. Here, learn about Matera's roots connecting to the Paleolithic Age as you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mysterious Sassi (ancient stone dwellings carved into rock) are believed to be the first human settlements in Italy. Over the centuries, the Sassi were adapted into family homes. Tonight, dinner is together at the hotel in Matera

DAY 8, Wednesday - Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, Sorrento
A morning drive takes you to the remarkable archaeological site of Pompeii at the base of Mount Vesuvius, a city that was frozen in time under a thick carpet of volcanic ash almost 2,000 years ago. The tragic vestiges of people attempting to escape with their children and pets are still visible, along with the preserved ruins of the Temples of Apollo, Jupiter and the Forum. A huge contrast in scenery as you arrive in Sorrento, welcomed by spectacular panoramic views and by the sapphire blue waters of the Gulf of Naples

DAY 9, Thursday - The Gorgeous Amalfi Drive
A magnificent day as you enjoy the drive along the rugged Amalfi coast, undoubtedly one of the most spectacular drives in the world, with its dramatic landscapes and amazing panoramas. Nestled into mountains rising thousands of feet above the sea, view enchanting villages, cliffs terraced with lemon groves, whitewashed villas and sparkling turquoise waters. Drive via Positano, the coast's most expensive town, and enjoy leisure time in Amalfi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The evening is yours to indulge yourself with some of the most incredible food in Italy

DAY 10, Friday - Sorrento at Leisure, Farewell to Sorrento
A leisure day in idyllic Sorrento, strikingly beautiful with its coastal setting and soaring cliffs plunging into the sea. As you stroll along the sea road and through the picturesque town, you'll know why this town has long been loved by poets and artists. Don't miss the optional full day tour to the enchanting Isle of Capri by boat. Once there, walk through the narrow lanes of Anacapri, with its chic boutiques and shops offering tastings of the island's famous Limoncello. Then, to La Piazzetta where everyone gathers to socialize and to the Gardens of Augustus, towards the top of the island, a natural paradise, from where you can see splendid views of the sea and the famous Faraglioni rock formations, one of the island's natural wonders. After a lovely day in Capri, return to Sorrento. Tonight, a Farewell Dinner with your fellow travelers. Time to say arrivederci and share wonderful memories of this discovery of Italy's Southern coast
