DAY 1, Monday - Depart for Italy

DAY 2, Tuesday - Arrive in Venice
Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure in this magical city built over a hundred small islands and connected by 400 bridges. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting at approximately 6 PM (exact time will be advised on tour arrival day) with your Tour Manager on the upcoming journey that awaits you in Italy, followed by a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers

DAY 3, Wednesday - Murano, Tour of Venice
The discovery of Venice begins on the island of Murano, known for its artistic and colorful glassware. While here, visit a local factory to witness the art of glassblowing. Afterward, continue to the main Venice Island and take a walking tour with your local guide through the maze of narrow alleyways and bridges before reaching St. Mark's Square. Upon reaching the square, stop to view its most prominent monuments, the pink marble Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs, and golden Basilica of San Marco. The Doge's Palace was the official residence of the Venetian ruler. The Bridge of Sighs offers one of the most notable scenes of this Romantic city. Marvel at the golden Basilica of San Marco, that is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. It was built over several centuries in a fusion of Byzantine, Roman and Venetian architecture. The rest of the day is yours to explore Venice at leisure, or participate in this afternoon's optional Gondola Ride, offering a different perspective of this unique city built on water

DAY 4, Thursday - Verona, Sirmione on Lake Garda
After breakfast, set out for Verona, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its urban structure and architecture that developed progressively over the last 2000 years. Today it represents one of the bests examples of a fortified city. Verona is also the setting of the world-famous Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the seat of the renowned Roman Amphitheatre, home of the Summer Opera Festival. Continue to charming Sirmione on Lake Garda, known as the “Pearl of the Islands and Peninsulas”, thanks to the Poet Catullo. Through the centuries many poets and writers have celebrated its artistic and natural wonders, including Stendhal, Lawrence & Goethe. Due to its beauty and strategic position, Sirmone became a favorite resort destination for the rich families of Verona in the 1st century BC. Due to its beauty and strategic position, it was an area of contention by the various factions until 1860, when it became part of the kingdom of Italy. Spend free time to enjoy the atmosphere, before continuing to Bergamo for dinner and overnight

DAY 5, Friday - Bergamo Alta
Begin the day with a visit to Bergamo Alta. This unique hilltop town forms the historical center of the city, completely surrounded by cyclopean defensive walls, that have maintained their original structure through the centuries. See its beautiful Piazza Vecchia, the Duomo, and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore with its Colleoni Chapel. Free time for lunch on your own. Perhaps try Polenta, one of the local specialties of the area, before continuing to one of the most exclusive resorts on Lake Maggiore. Tonight, savor dinner together

DAY 6, Saturday - Cross Lake Maggiore, Isola Bella & Isola dei Pescatori
Today, cruise Lake Maggiore to Isola Bella and visit the palace of Prince Borromeo with its splendid gardens and famous white peacocks. Continue to the charming Fishermen's Island (Isola dei Pescatori) that gets its name from the occupation of its inhabitants. Walk along the windy medieval streets and marvel at the incredible views of the lake. Sail back to Stresa with time to experience the delights of this lakeside town with its spectacular mountain views or perhaps take an optional tour to Lake Orta, and visit the historical Island of San Giulio. Evening is free to explore Stresa on your own

DAY 7, Sunday - Piedmont and Langhe
Today is dedicated to Piedmont and its wines. Travel through the regions of Langhe & Monferrato and visit the heartland of Barolo, the most famous & valuable Italian wine, produced by Nebbiolo grapes. Drive through the lush hills, passing the towns of La Morra and Barolo that link their names to the famous wines of the area. Discover the secrets of the “red gold” in a local farm, tour the cellars, enjoy a local wine tasting and lunch with local specialties. This region, that gave birth to the Slow Food movement, is drenched in culinary culture. Stop for a walk in the town of Alba, the white truffle capital of the world. This picturesque town plays host to gastro-tourists from all over the world who flock to the UNESCO World Heritage Site for the fleeting aroma of the underground earthy perfume of “Tartufo Bianco”. Continue to the town of Bra for overnight

DAY 8, Monday - The Alps & Turin
A journey through the Alpine landscape awaits you! Ascend to the height of 5000 ft above sea level in the Italian Alps to reach Fenestrelle Fortress, one of the largest fortified constructions in Europe. The giant structure located in the Chisone Valley, was built between 1728 and 1850 mainly for defensive purposes. Visit the “Great Wall of the Alps” including a peek into the gigantic covered staircase. Savor typical dishes of this mountainous region for lunch before continuing to Turin. Take a walking tour to experience the capital of Piedmont Region, also called the capital of the Alps. Turin is home to the House of Savoy, Italy’s royal family. DAY 9, Tuesday - Asti en route to Milan
This morning. stop in the city of Asti. Ruins of its ancient walls testify its Roman origins, while the most important heritage is its medieval architecture, with numerous towers, fortified houses, churches, and palaces in memory of what once was the most powerful town in Piedmont. Famous for its local nougat, you cannot leave without a tasting! Upon arrival in Milan, take a panoramic tour starting at Sforza Castle. Then, proceed to Duomo Square and walk through the Victor Emmanuel Galleria, a pedestrian mall built in the 1800’s featuring a large arched glass ceiling. Bid a fond farewell to Italy at tonight's Farewell Dinner with your Tour Manager and newfound friends
