DAY 1, Saturday - Depart for Italy

DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in Venice
Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel; remainder of the day is at leisure in this magical city built over a hundred small islands and connected by 400 bridges. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting at approximately 6 PM (exact time will be advised on tour arrival day), with your Tour Manager on the upcoming journey that awaits you in Italy, followed by a Welcome Dinner

DAY 3, Monday - Venice City Tour
The discovery of Venice begins with a boat ride to the island of Murano, known for its artistic and colorful Murano glassware. While here, visit one of the factories to witness the art of glass blowing. Afterward, proceed to St. Mark's Square where you begin the guided walking tour of this romantic city. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, built over several centuries in a fusion of Byzantine, Roman and Venetian architecture. Then, visit the pink marble Doge’s Palace, the official residence of the Venetian ruler; its facade is highlighted by a massive late-Gothic gate, known as the Porta della Carta. Walk via the Bridge of Sighs, created at the beginning of the 17th century to serve as a link between prisons. The rest of the day is yours to explore Venice independently. Or, participate in this afternoon's optional Gondola Ride, offering a different perspective of this unique city built on water

DAY 4, Tuesday - Bologna's Monuments & Food
This morning, drive to Bologna. Today's tour will take you to explore Bologna's oldest food market called "Quadrilatero". Visit traditional food shops and learn about the history, culture, and architecture that make Bologna’s medieval market so unique. During the tour, enjoy a variety of food specialties that have secured Bologna’s reputation as being the foodie capital of Italy. View Piazza Maggiore with the Accursio Palace, and the Neptune Fountain - considered one of the most elegant Renaissance fountains in Italy. Continue to St. Petronio Basilica, the Archiginnasio Palace with its frescoed walls, the Two Towers, and Santo Stefano Square. Free time to explore on your own before heading to Parma. Balance of the day is at leisure

DAY 5, Wednesday - Parma City Tour and Balsamic Vinegar Tasting
Begin the morning with a walking tour of the city of Parma, including views of the city's cathedral, the Teatro Regio and the Palazzo della Pilotta. Here in the Emilia-Romagna region, you can't miss a visit to the world-famous land of balsamic vinegar. Stop at a local estate to learn about the aging process and enjoy a balsamic vinegar tasting along with local specialties of the area. Continue to the Piedmont Region, through the heartland of Barolo, home to the famous wine produced from nebbiolo grapes. This region, that gave birth to the Slow Food movement, is drenched in culinary culture. Arrive in the town of Alba, the white truffle capital of the world and spend the evening at leisure

DAY 6, Thursday - Explore Turin
Morning is at leisure in Alba or, choose to join the optional excursion to the Heart of Piedmont, for a tour of the cellars and a wine tasting with local specialties. This afternoon travel to Turin, the industrial capital of Italy and nostalgic home to the House of Savoy, Italy’s royal family. Start your walking tour in Piazza Castello, the heart of the city, with its Royal Palace, Royal Church of San Lorenzo, the Cathedral and Palazzo Madama, where the first Italian Senate was located. Then, walk through the porticos of the elegant Subalpina and San Federico Galleries, jewels of eclectic art. The tour ends at the Baroque Piazza San Carlo. Return to Alba in the late afternoon

DAY 7, Friday - Milan City Tour
This morning, depart for Milan. Upon arrival, take a panoramic tour starting at Sforza Castle. Evening is at leisure to explore the Italian capital of fashion

DAY 8, Saturday - Full Day in Milan
Today is yours to explore Milan, or take the optional tour to Como. Touched by the waters of Lake Como, the city has a fascinating architecture, ancient buildings, lively piazzas, lake promenades and monuments. The walking tour will offer beautiful views of the “Lario”, the surrounding hills and the small village of Brunate. View the Volta Temple and the Life Electric monument, both dedicated to the most important citizen of the city: Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the electric battery. Later, return to Milan. Bid arrivederci to Italy at tonight's Farewell Dinner with your Tour Manager and newfound friends
