DAY 2, Monday - Arrive in Belfast
Welcome to the "Emerald Isle!" Arrive in Belfast, capital of Northern Ireland, with its beautifully restored Victorian architecture, European-style cafes and a rich cultural life. Time to relax before an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 pm on the fascinating journey through Ireland that lies ahead. After, join your fellow travelers at a lovely Welcome Dinner

DAY 3, Tuesday - Explore Belfast, Titanic Museum
Today's exploration of Belfast starts at the towering dome of the Edwardian City Hall, followed by the university district. Stop in a neighborhood where buildings are still scarred from "The Troubles" which ended with the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Visit the gleaming Titanic Belfast Museum constructed in the actual dockyard where the doomed ship was built; its multimedia presentation follows the history of Belfast and the creation of the world's most famous ocean liner. Exhibits include a high-tech ride through a recreation of the city's shipyards. View details of the Titanic's construction, replicas of the passenger accommodations and old film footage of the actual ship. The rest of the day is yours to discover Belfast on your own, or, join the optional tour to Downpatrick's Down Cathedral where St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint is buried

DAY 4, Wednesday - Giant's Causeway, Old Bushmills Distillery, Derry
Begin the day with a drive via Ballymena in County Antrim that takes you along winding roads to the spectacular Giant's Causeway. It's the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Northern Ireland, where unusual hexagonal columns formed by 60 million years of volcanic activity stretch into the sea. Marvel at this natural phenomenon! Afterward, tour the Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest working distillery in Ireland with a chance to taste the different Irish whiskeys. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant nearby before a driving along a scenic route, to view stately mountains, valleys and the jagged coastline where many scenes were filmed for the "Game of Thrones" series. Afterward, continue to the charming city of Derry (also known as Londonderry) with its rich history and glimpses of Northern Ireland's past and present. During your evening walking tour of the artistic cultural hub, view St. Columb's Cathedral, the oldest surviving building in Derry, dating back to 1633 and the neo-Gothic Guildhall with its beautiful stained glass windows. Continue to the well-preserved medieval city walls with its four original gates that completely encircle the old city center, protecting Derry throughout centuries from foreign invaders. DAY 5, Thursday - Donegal Castle, Westport
Drive through the rugged verdant green countryside to Donegal with its spectacular landscapes and perfect Irish atmosphere. Visit Donegal Castle, built in the 15th century by an O’Donnell chieftain. The picture-perfect royal castle, is considered one of Ireland's finest Gaelic castles. Continue to Westport, one of Ireland’s most popular vacation spots, known for its wide choice of outdoor activities, and celebrating the best of Irish music

DAY 6, Friday - Clew Bay, Achill Island, Westport House
Wondrous views abound as you circle the shores of Clew Bay. View steeply sloped mountains plunging into the ocean after crossing the bridge to Achill Island, home to beautiful beaches and some of Europe's highest cliffs. Here, view remains of a human settlement dating back over 5000 years and the poignant deserted village at Slievemore. After a stop for lunch, travel to the stately Westport House; discover the lush gardens of the Westport House Estate, and admire the magnificent views overlooking Clew Bay. Visit the historic mansion and later enjoy tea and scones, while listening to the fascinating tales about the people who once lived in the 300 year old house. Tonight is at leisure to wander through this lovely town on your own, and dine independently at one of the fine restaurants

DAY 7, Saturday - Connemara National Park, Picturesque Galway, Dublin
Begin the day with a drive along the impressive Connemara National Park with its soaring mountains, lush grasslands and woodlands as far as the eye can see. Arrive in Galway, once a seafaring town, nestled on the shores of Galway Bay, one of the fastest growing cities in Europe. Walk the picturesque winding streets in the downtown area to Eyre Square and to the trendy Latin Quarter. At Lynch's Castle, view 14th-century stonework that includes ghoulish gargoyles on the way to imposing Galway Cathedral on the banks of the River Corrib. View brightly painted pubs, cafes, and galleries in this lively bohemian city before departing for Dublin, the capital of Ireland. Evening is at leisure in Dublin, with its fine restaurants, non-stop nightlife and friendly pubs on every corner

DAY 8, Sunday - Phoenix Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Book of Kells
In Dublin, immortalized by James Joyce, the day begins with a drive through Phoenix Park*, the largest enclosed park in Europe, home to the President's official residence, and the Dublin Zoo. Continue to view St. Patrick's Cathedral, the largest church in Ireland, before travelling along O’Connell Street; admire the handsome buildings that line the city’s main thoroughfare. Next, at Trinity College, view the 8th century Book of Kells, a superb example of early Irish manuscript illumination on display in the Old Library. This afternoon, explore Dublin on your own and perhaps walk along the famous pedestrian Grafton Street, or visit the cultural Temple Bar area. Later, it’s time to get ready for a fabulous Farewell Dinner and lively traditional entertainment
