DAY 1, Saturday - Depart for Italy

DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in Catania
Benvenuti! Arrive to the island of Sicily, rich in history, culture and tradition. Transfer to your hotel in Catania. The remainder of the day is at leisure to start exploring one of Sicily's most important cities. Tonight, at approximately 6 PM (exact time will be advised on tour arrival day), join an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager on the exciting journey that awaits you

DAY 3, Monday - Catania City Tour
Begin the day with a stroll in Catania, a wonderful combination of ancient and modern, under the shadow of Mt. Etna. After the town was destroyed, the entire old part of the city was rebuilt in Baroque style with large wide-open squares. Walk the piazzas and the streets and visit its colorful open-air market. Afternoon is at leisure to explore the city on your own. Or, take the optional tour to the old-world resort city of Taormina, also known as the "Jewel of the Ionian Sea." The tour is highlighted by the city's most famous archaeological monument, the Greek Theatre, one of the most celebrated ruins in Sicily

DAY 4, Tuesday - Explore Syracuse
Today, depart Catania and travel to Ragusa. View the magnificent Mt. Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe, dominating the landscape, and explore the foothills around the base station. Weather permitting, reach the two impressive Silvestri Craters. Later, arrive in Syracuse and explore the birthplace of Archimedes. Step back in time to the bygone era of Greek Sicily. Walk through the “Old City,” Città Vecchia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before continuing to Ragusa, arriving in the afternoon

DAY 5, Wednesday - Full Day in Ragusa
Spend the day at your leisure or, choose to participate in an optional walking tour of the city. Indulge in the baroque atmosphere of Ragusa Ibla, with its breathtaking sights of houses, churches, and palaces that seem layered on top of one another

DAY 6, Thursday - Valley of Temples
This morning, drive to Agrigento to discover the impressive Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This splendid archaeological park is the largest in the world with the best-preserved temple ruins outside of mainland Greece. Savor lunch featuring some of the area’s local delicacies before continuing to Palermo. Check in to your hotel in the late afternoon

DAY 7, Friday - Full Day in Palermo
Explore the vibrant capital of Sicily on your own, or choose to join the optional tour of Palermo & Monreale. Travel to the hilltop town of Monreale to visit the Norman Cathedral, with its interior of glittering 12th century Byzantine mosaics and continue for a walking tour of the ancient old city of Palermo with its incredible mix of architectural styles, including its magnificent cathedral. In the afternoon, discover Palermo on your own with its bustling street markets, winding alleyways and colorful back streets. Perhaps, stop at a local café and just people-watch, linger over a cup of coffee, indulge in a delectable gelato or an authentic Sicilian pastry

DAY 8, Saturday - Cefalu en route to Catania
This morning depart Palermo for the charming fisherman village of Cefalu, with its ancient houses facing the sea. Stroll through its medieval settings reaching its magnificent Piazza del Duomo, where you will experience the splendidly intact atmosphere of this pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Then, drive to Catania. Tonight, bid arrivederci to your Tour Manager and newfound friends, at the Farewell Dinner, on your last night in Sicily
