Ajloun Castle in Jordan

Since the Middle Ages, many travelers from various regions around the world have spent their vacations in Jordan due to the country’s natural beauty and various historical sites. One of the most interesting monuments of Jordon is the Ajloun Castle. Built by the famous Arabian army leader and king, Saladin, the castle was constructed in 1184 AD to protect the region against the attacks of the crusaders.

The Ajloun Castle is constructed in a semi square shape with four monitoring towers at its four sides. After the famous battle of Hattin, between the Arabs and the crusaders, two other monitoring towers were added to the castle. Today, the Ajloun Castle is one of the major touristic highlights that welcome hundreds of travelers who spend their holidays in Jordan.
