Mystra in Greece

The ancient town of Mysta is among the most distinctive monuments for tourists to visit in Greece. Located in Peloponnese, it was an important Byzantine stronghold in the Middle Ages. Today, it is one of the interesting historical sites of the country.

Included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites, Mystra was deserted during the Ottoman rule of Greece. Afterwards, many historians believed that it was the remains of the ancient town of Sparta.
