The ancient city of Yaxha in Guatemala

According to several historical records, Yaxha was among the largest and most influential centers during the period from the 3rd to the 7th centuries AD.   However, there were human settlements at the site more than 4000 years ago.

Scholars assert that it used to host a huge population of more than 20 thousand people back at the 8th century. There are in fact many ruins which are finely preserved including the Acrópolis Este.

Many travelers who tour Guatemala are keen to explore some of the country's historical sites. Yaxha is a huge historical site that extends for a huge surface area. Established by the Mayans, the site hosts some really astonishing sites.
