The Blarney Castle in Ireland

The Blarney Castle is situated near the city of Cork in Ireland. It is considered one of the most impressive medieval fortified constructions. Built at the middle of the 15th century, the Blarney Castle is usually included in many travel packages to Ireland.

The very first castle to be built in the exact same location was at the beginning of the 13th century. However, this ancient establishment was demolished in 1446. Afterwards, the Blarney Castle we view today was rebuilt by Cormac MacCarthy, Lord of Muscry. Today, it is one of the attractive touristic highlights which welcome many tourists who spend their vacations in Ireland.

Although the Blarney Castle consists of several ruins scattered all over a large area, many travelers who tour Ireland enjoy their trip to the castle. The most wonderful sections include the Blarney Stone which is said to give good luck for those who kiss it.

All over the ruins of the castle, there are some wonderful gardens that contain a number of attractions like the Cave of the Witch, the Blarney House, and the Wishing steps. Travelers enjoying their holidays in Ireland should never miss exploring historical sites like the Blarney Castle.
