The Hermitage Museum in Russia

The Hermitage Museum, located in Saint Petersburg in Russia, is among the largest museum in the world. The museum hosts the largest number of portraits and paintings in the whole world according to Genes World Records. This is the reason why several tourists who visit Russia explore the museum.  

Established in 1764 by Empress Catherine the Great when she purchased many amazing paintings from Germany, she decided to found a museum to host these works.  
The Hermitage Museum is quite huge and impressive. There are multiple sections that grab the attention of tourists coming from all over the world to enjoy a vacation in Russia.
