The Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk or the Anýtkabir is one of the most remarkable contemporary monuments in Turkey. Located in Ankara, this impressive mausoleum hosts the body of the founder of modern Turkey and the first president of the country.

Constructed in 1940s, the design which travelers who tour Turkey view today was actually chosen after an international competition that included more than 50 designers and architects from all over the world. At the end, architects Professor Emin Onat and Assistant Professor Ahmet Orhan Arda won and the world got to view their brilliance.
