The Rock of Cashel in Ireland

The Rock of Cashel, or the Rock of St. Patrick is one of the most distinctive monuments to explore during a tour to Ireland. Situated in the County Tipperary,  these impressive structures served as the residence of the High Kings of Munster.

Most of the building at the Rock of Cashel was constructed during the 12th and 13th centuries. The most ancient among these is the round tower that dates to the beginning of the 12th century. There is also the impressive Chapel of Cormac which was completed in 1134 with modernistic outlines and elements.

Among the most remarkable place to explore in the Rock of Cashel is the Cathedral built around the middle of the 12th century. With its large central tower and the huge castle, it is among the most iconic establishments that grab the attention of various tourists who travel to Ireland.
