Situated at the city of Smederevo in Serbia, this castle is among the most impressive historical establishments all over Europe. Constructed at the beginning of the 15th century, the fortress is among the most famous touristic highlights of Serbia. Unfortunately, the remarkable fortress of Smederevo was largely damaged during World War II. However, the rebuilding processes carried out in 2009 regained some of its beauty and architectural elements. Following the Byzantine outlines and layout, the Smederevo Fortress is fully surrounded with water. The fortress has some notable fortified walls that are 2 meters wide and extend for more than 1500 meters. There are also 25 monitoring towers all over those walls.
