The Suomenlinna Fortress in Finland

Constructed over 8 different islands, the Suomenlinna Fortress is located near the capital of Finland, it was established by the
Swedes around the beginning of the 18th century.

The fortress is one of the most distinctive historical sites of Finland; popular among tourists and locals. It is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites.  

There are some marvelous sections of the fortress that shouldn’t be missed by travelers who tour Finland. There is for example the Bastion Zander, the king's gate, many tunnels, fortified walls, and some chambers.
