A ship of this style and scale, the NCL Breakaways home is New York. Until the end of September, the ship repeats a short voyage to Bermuda. After leaving the big apple, the ship spends two days at sea before arriving at Kings Wharf in Bermuda. Visitors can see the Royal Naval Dockyard and the maritime museum and explore the entire island as the ship remains in port for three days, spending another day at sea before returning to New York.
This cycle is repeated until October 13 when the ship switches itinerary to a cruise around the Bahamas and Florida. After leaving New York, the Breakaway spends two days at sea before arriving in Nassau in the Bahamas. The next port of call is Great Stirrup Cay, a private island owned by NCL. The Breakaway then heads to the American mainland where it calls in at Port Canaveral in Florida. Passengers have a chance to visit the Kennedy Space Centre and transfers can be organized to Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld. A day at sea follows before the ship returns to New York, where passengers stay in a hotel before flying home.
The next change for the Breakaway comes in the New Year when the ship begins a series of Southern Caribbean cruises, arriving at San Juan in Puerto Rico after a day at Sea. St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands is the next port of call, followed by St Maarten in the Leeward Islands, St Lucia, Barbados, St Kitts, once more in the Leeward Islands. There are another three days at sea as the Breakaway heads back to its New York home, where passengers again stay overnight in the city before heading to the airport for the return flight. The ship switches between the two schedules up until February, with the occasional two night cruise in the Atlantic returning to New York
